Tingjun Chen received the Oscar and Verna Byron Fellowship

Ph.D. student Tingjun Chen received the Oscar and Verna Byron Fellowship from the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science for the 2017-2018 academic year. The fellowship is awarded to Columbia Engineering Ph.D. students based on their academic achievements and clear potential for future success.

Tingjun’s research interests are in PHY/MAC layer algorithms, optimization, and system implementation in Internet-of-Things (IoT), energy harvesting networks, full-duplex wireless, massive antenna systems, optical-wireless networks, mmWave, and 5G networks. He received the Wei Family Private Foundation (WFPF) Fellowship and the Columbia University Electrical Engineering Armstrong Memorial Award. He also received the ACM CoNEXT 2016 Best Paper Award.
